Consciousness

Structural Realism

Description:

A theory proposed by Kristjan Loorits that posits conscious experiences are structural phenomena represented as complex patterns of neural activity. It addresses the hard problem of consciousness by suggesting that qualia, often perceived as non-structural, are actually compositional and determined by internal structures within neural processes. Loorits argues that consciousness can be analyzed in structural terms, thus solving the hard problem, and that conscious experiences, while private, can be described in public terms.
